For many years, most of those in our family have always decided to buy John Deere products. It was natural really when we decided we needed a new lawnmower. We ended up getting ourselves a John Deere JS26 model which is more than enough for what we need. It has a 22 inch steel deck which is a handy feature to have and all of the valves are on the side. I really like the fact that it uses zone start to help keep me safe. There is a bail on the handles that has to be held while you are starting the machine. You let go of the bail and the machine will stop in about 2 or 3 seconds, this is handy as the mower will not continue to run when you are away from the handle, i.e. out of control!
One thing I do like about the JS 26 is that it is also self-propelled and can run at up to 3.6 mph. it uses their MowMentum drive that is a variable drive system allowing you to match the motor speed to how fast you walk so that you can have more control and comfort. I like it.

I have always liked John Deere lawn mowers and so recently I bought myself a JS 46 that features rear wheel drive and gives me added traction when I’m bagging my clippings. I like the fact that the weight of the mower is shifted backwards over the wheels as the grass clippings become heavier. I use it once a week and have never had a problem whatsoever. The mower is very efficient and uses a Briggs and Stratton engine which is one of those which you can rely upon. This particular walk behind can be adjusted from 1.2 inches right up to a massive 4.2 inches, so if you’re having a really hot season then you can raise the height to help protect the grass for longer, so that it stays greener for longer periods as well. Well recommended.

If you’re looking for a brand-new mower, go for one of the John Deere lawn mowers because they have proven over time that they are pretty much the best you can possibly ever buy. They seem to last forever, start up easy and make a great job. I’d buy one again.

I just purchased a John Deere lawnmower model # JS26 today. It was nice mowing the yard with this mower. Plus Lowes gave me an outstanding price. I was able to buy the display mower ( new , never used) for $209.00. The regular price would have been $349.00. The salesman at Lowes was very knowledgeable and made sure I knew every detail of the mower.

I wrote an article about the quality of # JS26 John Deere lawnmower. The damn thing fell apart on me. It was not the lawnmower fault. The mower in question was damaged at Lowes and they said it was new and never been used. They did refund the money but I ended going to Home Depot and buying one that was not damaged. The Lowes in New Tampa was the one that sold damaged goods. The salesman name was Juan. Beware of this store. i would recommend Home Depot.

John Deere ain’t what she use
to be!
I bought a 737 Z Track commercial mower for about $9,000.00 and it has been nothing but a piece of junk since I aquired it.
It is 7 years old but only has 206 hours before it needed approximately $1,800.00 worth of work on it!
It has only been used at my residence and was told by the sales people at John Deere in Zolfo Springs Florida where I bought it that ” It shouldn’t need a thing until it has if not 3,500 hours on it, 5,000 hours”.
I understood it would need regular maintenance which it has had more often than required in the manuel it came with.
It turns out besides having to replace the belts & blades a second time, the vacuum pump ( about a $1100.00 Part) was shot.
The problem, it appears, stems from the assembly of the mower new. The engine was never bolted down tight .
The disguesting thing to me is I had the mower picked back up when almost brand new by John Deere in Zolfo Springs for trouble at that time of which do they not only show no record but Zolfo claims John Deere sends the mower already assembled and John Deere Company blames the local dealer.
Bottom line is my old Murray $200.00 riding lawn mower lasted longer than my $9,000.00 John Deere COMMERCIAL junk!
